In solid alkali, Caustic Soda Flakes and Caustic Soda Pearls are the most common and widely used types of solid alkali. Caustic Soda Pearls is generally considered to be more advantageous than CSF, but its production process is more difficult and complex, leading to a higher price compared to CSF.
Caustic soda is primarily used as a chemical raw material and is an important basic material in the chemical industry with a wide range of applications. It is used in the manufacture of formic acid, oxalic acid, borax, phenol, sodium cyanide, soaps, synthetic fatty acids, synthetic detergents, and more. In the textile printing and dyeing industry, it is used as a scouring agent, boiling agent, silk finishing agent, solvent for vat dyes, and solvent for indigo blue dyes. In the metallurgical industry, it is used to produce aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, and metal surface treatment agents. In the instrumentation industry, it is used as an acid neutralizer, decolorizing agent, and deodorant. In the adhesive industry, it is used as a starch liquefying agent and neutralizer. Additionally, it finds widespread applications in enamel, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, tanning, coatings, pesticides, glass, and other industries.
In most industrial sectors, caustic soda is preferred over other solid alkalis such as CSF, making it highly sought after in the manufacturing industry. However, the production process of caustic soda is more difficult compared to Caustic Soda Flakes.
